I’m more than a just Executive Coach

My career has spanned over 30 years. During that time, I’ve worked globally at some of the best firms including BCG, Google and others large and small. I’ve held various leadership positions in Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and even briefly in HR, from Director to C-suite. Coaching has been a natural outcropping of those diverse experiences. Let me explain.

First, a short summary of what I bring to every session we have together: Computer Science BS summa cum laude from Stony Brook University, an MS in CS from Brown University, and an MBA at The Wharton School of Business in Strategy and Marketing. After Wharton, I was at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for 4 years building strategy for major corporations – working directly with CEOs and other C-levels, learning how executives think and act, how to organize companies and divisions, and how people get ahead (or don’t) – what really matters. Then 9 years at Google working around the world in leadership positions in Product Management and Sales Management. I even spent some time in the HR Department at Google which helped me see how that is run. Then I was the CPO at Central Group – a $13B retailer, where I learned more how to navigate politics at every level and work with more diverse teams.

Along the way, I’ve worked for a number of smaller organizations, and I’ve consulted for others. I’ve started multiple companies – some with VC money, some not. I’ve gone through various exits. I’ve hired, fired, and promoted more people than I care to count. I’ve invested venture capital in a number of startups. I’ve worked around the world in multiple countries and countless cultures. I’ve made a bit of money and lived my own dream life along the way.

This coaching practice has naturally developed from my experience and many years mentoring others during my career. At this point, I’ve professionally coached over 200 men and women to accelerate their careers in all aspects of work – from startup founders to VP at multinational organizations. Their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive because I can relate to their position, and I can help them navigate the next few turns while setting a robust career strategy for the long term.
